Selawik National Wildlife Refuge posted Ree's new quilt Selawik Sheefish on their Facebook page. This is one of Ree's new pieces sponsored by the Rasmusson Foundation.
The Alaska-based Rasmuson Foundation named Ree Nancarrow as one its 2020 Individual Artist Award recipients. Thirty-six individual artists were selected from a pool of 289 applicants by a panel of Lower 48 artists and creative community leaders. Read the press release here.
Ree has been telling complex stories with her art for years. Her goal is to create a series of large art quilts that interpret a variety of the impacts from climate change in a new and very personal way.

These same two quilts were then quickly transferred to the Alaska Member Show of the Surface Design Association at the Alaska Fiber Festival in Anchorage, March 13-14
