Global warming has significantly adversely affected Denali National Park. Layers of ash deposited by volcanos millions of years ago have been frozen for millennia. As permafrost melts this park ash layer liquifies and all the earth above it sloughs off causing slides.


There are 40 potential problem areas on the DNP road. This slide is the largest problem to date. It has closed the park road to the west end of the park since the end of summer 2021. The problem may not be solvable.


My interpretation of these events shows the sloughed off materials cascading down slope to the river below. Find 5 of the year-round inhabitants in the quilt: grizzly bear, pika, golden eagle, Dall sheep.
