The Alaska-based Rasmuson Foundation named Ree Nancarrow as one its 2020 Individual Artist Award recipients. Thirty-six individual artists were selected from a pool of 289 applicants by a panel of Lower 48 artists and creative community leaders. Read the press release here.


Ree has been telling complex stories with her art for years. Her goal is to create a series of large art quilts that interpret a variety of the impacts from climate change in a new and very personal way.

Summer Rain and River With Poppies were featured in the Mark This show by the Alaska Surface Design Association in Anchorage from February 19 – March 13, 2010


These same two quilts were then quickly transferred to the Alaska Member Show of the Surface Design Association at the Alaska Fiber Festival in Anchorage, March 13-14
