Toolik Chain of Lakes to be shown in August at Black Spruce Brewing in Fairbanks

Ree's quilt Toolik Chain of Lakes will be featured as part of an exhibit celebrating 50 years of research by the University of Alaska Fairbanks' Toolik Field Station.

The exhibition at Black Spruce Brewing Co. will open with a special event on Friday, August 1 from 3–8pm. The brewery is located in Fairbanks at 3290 Peger Road. Artworks will be on display through the month of August.

Join Toolik staff from UAF’s Institute of Arctic Biology and past artists for the show’s First Friday opening on Aug. 1 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m at the brewery, 3290 Peger Road, in Fairbanks.Artwork will showcase interpretations of the station’s science and surrounding landscape. The show will feature works from Toolik’s past resident artists, including watercolorist Michael Boardman, tile artist Nancy Hausle Johnson, science illustrator Kristin Link, painter David Mollett, quilt artist Ree Nancarrow, painter Iris Sutton and others.
